WHAT IS CLAN WARS?
Clan Wars is an epic 6-week competition for all students in grades 6-12 this summer at the Youth Center. Every week, Clans will compete against each other in massive, energetic contests to gain points that will add up each and every week.
You should know out of the gate that the purpose of Clan Wars isn’t a Bible study. We have certainly made a space to discuss spiritual things with each other, but the purpose of Clan Wars is to give you and your friends a fun and non-churchy way to be introduced and connected to our youth ministry. |

HOW DO YOU WIN POINTS?
So, this isn’t 4H Sports where you aren’t supposed to be keeping score, but secretly all the dads really are anyway. This is a competition. Winners win. Everyone else loses.
Seriously though, we award super huge points during Clan Wars. First, it’s just ridiculous and we don’t want people to get so caught up in the competition that they don’t enjoy themselves. Secondly, the race to be the first team to a bajillion points is pretty awesome, in and of itself!
Here's the points system:
Seriously though, we award super huge points during Clan Wars. First, it’s just ridiculous and we don’t want people to get so caught up in the competition that they don’t enjoy themselves. Secondly, the race to be the first team to a bajillion points is pretty awesome, in and of itself!
Here's the points system:
- GROW YOUR CLAN - 20 million points per person. The whole point of this event is to welcome new students! So, the biggest number of points goes to new people coming to join a Clan. After the Clans have been set, every new person that comes to join a Clan is worth 20m points (on their first night only). Then, they become a permanent part of that Clan and will get the regular attendance points each week. Also, it is possible to go the entire summer without winning a game and still win the whole thing by increasing your Clan.
- ATTENDANCE - 10 million points per person. Having your group show up every single week is important if you want to win. Members of your Clan will get 10m points just for being there. That way, if you’re not necessarily good at the games, you can still give your team a boost by being there and bringing friends. For instance, a Clan with 10 members brings 3 new people...they start the night with 160m points.
- THE GAMES - The point system for the game is as follows
- 1st place = 50 million
- 2nd place = 25 million
- 3rd place = 10 million
- 4th place = 5 million
- TIEBREAKER - When teams tie, we add up all the points and split them evenly. Example: If two Clans tie for first, since they are the top two teams, they get to split 75m points evenly.
- SERVICE PROJECTS - 5 million points per person participating. Each month, we will plan out a main service project for all to participate in. And then, for additional service points, clans and/or individual students can organize more service projects. For our Summer of Serving list, click here. For each service project completed, you'll send a picture of everyone participating to brant@walloonchurch.com. And we will give 5m points to your Clan for each of your teammates that are in the picture.
- SOCIAL MEDIA - 1 million points. Each person will earn points for their Clan by posting pictures and tagging @walloonym on Instagram and/or TikTok. And here's the cool thing about this one: if y'all are flooding your social media accounts with epic photos/videos here, when you make the invite the following week for someone to join your Clan, it's going to be that much more desirable for them to say "yes!"
- SPECIAL POINTS WEEKENDS.
- Double Attendance: On one week during the summer, we’ll double attendance points.
- Double Newcomer: Two times during summer, we’ll double the newcomer points.
- Spirit Points: One of the weeks, we'll even give extra points to the Clan that shows the most enthusiasm and spirit.
Where's the Youth Center?
